Some Finished Socks

The first pair of socks I’ve finished in quite a while.  Not to mention, the first pair in a while that are for me!  (Woohoo!)

Dead Simple Lace SocksPattern: Dead Simple Lace Socks by Wendy Johnson (from Socks from the Toe Up)
Yarn:
Wollmeise Sockenwolle 100% superwash in “Dornröschen”

Aren’t they lovely?  There really aren’t any yarns out there quite like Wollmeise!  They’re really eye-poppingly bright.

Lacy Ribs Socks, ToeI think I mentioned before that I loved all the patterns in Wendy’s book so much that I decided to just work my way from start to finish.  So here’s pattern #2, Lacy Ribs Socks.

I’m using some lovely hand-dyed yarn that Pat and Sharon brought home to me from Stitches South.  It’s Anzula superwash merino/nylon.  Unfortunately I didn’t see the color name on the ballband, but it’s a lovely mix of teal (my fav!) and gold.  It’s also super-squishy soft.

I also cast on and started knitting the latest Rockin’ Sock Club shipment from Blue Moon Fiber Arts… but being that some club members haven’t received their packages yet, I won’t spoil it.  If you want to see that, check my Flickr or my Ravelry.

But for the time being, socks have been cast aside for this…

Spidery Tank

Pattern: Spidery Tank by Nichola Thompson (Interweave Knits, summer 2009)
Yarn: Knit One Crochet Too 2nd Time Cotton

I’m on my very last lace repeat for this top (about 1/3 of my way through it, I think), then I get to start the armholes and neckline.  It gets a racerback, which I think is fun.  If – I mean, when – I finish this, it will be my first adult-size top that I’ve ever completed.  (Do you believe that?!)  Of course, it can hardly be counted because it has no real shaping and no sleeves — but ya know, baby steps.
